Hotel Database Analyst (303563-787)

This position is a member of the hotel operations team. Team members provide support for hotel partners and ensure the quality of the data stored for hotel within proprietary databases.
The hotel team is looking to add a Hotel Database Analyst to help facilitate, maintain and ensure that data related to each hotel within the hotel proprietary database is accurate and consistent.
Responsibilities include:



Supporting and monitoring the Hotel Partner Hotline 800 number and addresses hotelier concerns. Coaching and educating hotels on operational policies and procedures.
Ensuring that each new hotel is functioning properly and has a comprehensive understanding of the Priceline program prior to activation by test booking all new hotels.
Working closely with hotel partners and internal customers to troubleshoot, investigate and resolve GDS data issues preventing hotels from properly participating.
Monitoring and managing internal and external issue escalation process. Determine issue, identify potential resolution, prioritize and route to appropriate team member for action.
Activating hotels for participation in the Priceline hotel program in a timely and accurate manner. Auditing and reviewing each update for accuracy, taking time to research any inconsistencies and determining the best solution.
Reviewing hotel contract data, comparing data to proprietary database and isolating discrepancies. Deciding the best resolution for discrepancies by consulting various data sources.
Validating information requests for data loading/updating from both internal and external customers to ensure accuracy and consistency, consulting multiple sources of data to verify and determine the most accurate data to be loaded.
Running and monitoring GDS activity and update reports for each GDS that Priceline interfaces with to identify data discrepancies and inconsistencies. Consulting various data sources to determine best resolution for discrepancies and executing as needed to ensure that the functionality of each hotel is uninterrupted.
Liaising with internal customers to troubleshoot and identify the best resolution and execute the appropriate changes to repair data inconsistencies.
Proactively identify missing/incorrect hotel information, review multiple data sources to determine the most accurate solution and update.
Recognizing outdated or inconsistent data, research to identify the correct data to be loaded and determine what that is and update it and then review again for accuracy.
Assisting with general ad-hoc projects.
Providing ad hoc reporting, analysis and data for internal sales teams as needed.




Requirements:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and use of the internet.
Propensity for data analysis: Access, basic concepts of SQL and knowledge of databases.
Detail oriented with excellent follow up skills, displays sense of urgency, able to work and flourish in a fast paced multi-tasked environment.
Able to work independently as part of a team, possess problem solving skills.
Good phone and people skills along with strong oral and written communication skills.


Experience Required:

Bachelors preferred.
Minimum 3 years Travel or Hotel experience essential
Knowledge of GDS (Global Distribution Systems) and/or CRS (Central Reservation System) is an asset.
